Turkish License Plate Format
Turkish vehicle registration plates are rectangular aluminium plates with black text on white background (white on black for official vehicles). The left side features a blue stripe displaying country code “TR” (without EU stars). Plates manufactured by authorized private workshops. Two plates required (front and rear) except for motorcycles and tractors. Blue stripe introduced in 1996 after Turkey joined the European Customs Union.
